Day 32: Education

(American Museum of Natural History: New York City)
“Just ask the previous generation.
Pay attention to the experience of our ancestors.
For we were born but yesterday and know nothing.
Our days on earth are as fleeting as a shadow.
But those who came before us will teach you.
They will teach you the wisdom of old.
“Can papyrus reeds grow tall without a marsh?
Can marsh grass flourish without water?
While they are still flowering not ready to be cut,
they begin to wither more quickly than grass.
The same happens to all who forget God.
The hopes of the godless evaporate.
– Job 8:81-3
Degrees and academics are good. But let’s not forget the wisdom of age. We learn more about life from our elders. We learn life lessons from people who had been there. Education doesn’t make us always better than others. Let’s have a teachable heart.

Then You knew my path”
Psalm 142:3a

Day 29: Powerful

(The Great Salt Lake, Utah)

“I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.”
                                       – Ephesians 1:19-20

Day 28: Work

(Rice planting in the Philippines)

                                           – 2 Thess. 3:10

Day 27: Steady

“God himself is right alongside to keep you steady and on track until all things are all wrapped up by Jesus. God, who got you started in this spiritual adventure, shares with us the life of his Son and our Master Jesus. He will never give up on you. Never forget that.”
                                   – 1 Corinthians 1:8-9

Day 26: Laziness

A little sleep, a little slumber,
A little folding of hands to rest —
and poverty will come on you like a thief
and scarcity like an armed man.
– Proverbs 6:10-11

Day 25: Free

(The Flower Fields: Carlsbad, CA in springtime)

“So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.”
John 8:36

In Remembrance

Remembering our father who passed away 18 years ago.
His memories are forever cherished.

“Precious in the sight of the Lord
is the death of His godly ones.”
-Psalm 116:15

Day 24: Praise

Blessed be the name of the Lord

Blessed be your glorious name…

“Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord.”
