Day 10: Peace

(Lake Tahoe in the morning)

“Now may the Lord of peace himself at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.”
                                      2 Thessalonians 3:16

Peace in every way…
Peace at all times…
    even in turmoil
    even in waiting
    even in stressful life
Peace that transcends all understanding.

Pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank Him for all he has done.

Day 9: View

(view from the Weeping trail: Zion National Park, Utah)

“So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer”.
                                          – 2 Cor. 5:16

Day 8: Self Control

(Exploratorium: San Francisco)

“Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self control.”
                                            – Prov. 25:28

“Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.”
                                            – Titus 2:4-5

Day 7: Signs

(Zion National Park, Utah)

Moses was given a task by God. And He gave him proof and signs to perform. God showed Moses what to do to let the Israelites go out of Egypt. With a promise in Exodus 3:12… And God said, “I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you. When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.”

Day 6: Shield

(road to Four Corners, USA)

“My shield is God Most High,
who saves the upright in heart.”
                        – Psalm 7:10

“But you Lord, are a shield around me,
my glory, the one who lifts my head high.
I call out to the Lord,
and he answers me from his holy mountain.
I lie down and sleep;
I wake again, because he Lord sustains me.”
                    – Psalm 3:3-5

Day 5: Struggle

(Colorado Hike: Harper’s Corner Trail)

“I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.”
                                                                              – Rom. 8:18

In Exodus 1-2, the Israelites were oppressed after Joseph’s death. It takes hard labor and slavery for a long time to see the soon to be glory being revealed to all. Our present suffering is not permanent. We just have to hold on to what God wants to happen and show His glory. If we need to repeatedly plea or pray constantly for freedom from oppression, then do so.

Day 4: Accomplish

(Monticello, Utah)

“Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.”
                                            – Eph. 3:20

“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives”
                                            – Gen. 50:20

Day 3: Father

(Arizona)

“He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”
                                                                   -Zeph. 3:17b

“So, then it was not you who sent me here, but God. He made me a father to Pharaoh, lord of his entire household and ruler of all Egypt.”
                                                                  – Gen. 45:8

God is a father to the fatherless. He’s always a father to me in the absence of my father who died 18 years ago. He calms all my fears and hugs me every time I need a TLC. I’m always secure because of His love. I bet Joseph felt the same when he was sold to Egypt and can’t feel the love of his family.

Day 2: Astray

(Road trip: To Grand Canyon)

“I led them with cords of human kindness, with ties of love. To them I was like one who lifts a little child to the cheek, and I bent down to feed them.”
                                                                                  – Hosea 11:4

Every once in a while, we do mess up. Sometimes we become a part of messy things to bring fulfillment to what God is doing or about to reveal. Sometimes, we are the victims of situations that we can’t control. Anyhow, we have a gentle God who restores everything if we yield. Whenever we go astray, there’s a way, make a turn and acknowledge Him.

Day 1: Dream

When you look at this view, you can’t ignore the beauty of God’s workmanship. It’s just relaxing and inviting. You can daydream all you want. This was taken in Park City, Utah during the time when we just want to unwind. We were at the “lowest point of our lives” in the US but here we were, being welcomed by a butler, ushered to our suite with two fireplaces, wine and cheese, tv in one of the two baths. It was just awesome! We were pampered at St. Regis Deer Valley.

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine…” Eph. 3:20-21
